The Dubbles

The Dubbles are a two-piece Reggae/Roots/Dub/Ska/Drum & Bass band based in the Midlands. Both Mat and Roger have had long careers playing in bands with a variety of styles and influences. Having played together on and off for a number of years, they decided to form a band that played the style of music they would actually listen to at home.

Mat & Roger's love of Reggae goes back years to when they were teenagers. At a show by The Dubbles you will see Mat playing the bass guitar and singing lead vocal, and Roger playing drums, percussion and singing backing vocals, but what you hear is a whole lot more!

The Dubbles have their own recording studio and have spent a great many months recording all the other instrumental parts that you will hear during a show in order to produce a "big band" sound. The audience hears the sound of a full band sounding crisp and clear through their PA system. If it's more of a simpler sound that you're searching for, then Mat & Roger also go out as an acoustic duo with guitar and congas - this is more suitable for smaller quieter venues etc.

The Dubbles set consists of Reggae/Roots/Dub/Ska/Drum & Bass music from musicians such as Bob Marley, Toots & the Maytals, UB40 as well as original material written by Mat.
